Ino does not become Sakura's friend

With Ino never becoming Sakura's friend, Sakura is depressed about how everyone hates her forehead. When Naruto sees the dejected look on her face and makes friends with her. With no one else trying to tell her that Naruto was a 'bad' influence she becomes friends with him.
Concerning Sakura's parents. I can see them being the type of parents who want only the best for daughter and know that she want's to become a kunoichi and they only want to keep her innocence for as long as possible since when she becomes a ninja she will face some harsh truths that she might not like.
When they here that Sakura has a new friend they are happy for their daughter, they ask Sakura to invite their her friend over and they find out that it is Naruto is her friend.
Admittedly, there were a little apprehensive about Naruto becoming friends with their daughter as they both had heard about Naruto being a jinchuuriki. A few times of naruto coming over though, they see that Naruto is actually just a kid and he is someone that thoroughly deserves to have friends and not be ostracised .
With Sakura's parents approving of Naruto, the two become best friends. With Naruto having a friend in being Sakura, he doesn't start doing pranks because he doesn't want to embarrass her and doesn't need any attention because he gets it from the entire Haruno family.
Since Naruto is only an academy student he doesn't have access to anything other than what is taught at the academy apart from general knowledge and learning some small and depending on the author they can be actually usable in battle. It is up to the author whether or not Naruto becomes the rookie of the year though in my personal opinion I think he should get the position.
Now that Naruto would not be the class retard, Hinata wouldn't like him and i can see her liking Kiba if he isn't bashed because of his personality that is similar to the canon Naruto. Ino would be like a bully because Sakura is better then her and she is jealous, I can also easily see Sasuke being jealous of Naruto.
It's up to you what you want to do with the team placements but I think the canon teams would be the best for this. Concerning training with Kakashi, Kakashi doesn't train them just like in canon, although instead of Canon, both Sakura and Naruto go to the library to become better.
Concerning their skills as a ninja... I can see Sakura in this being a Genjutsu user, with her eventually becoming the medic nin under the training of Tsunade, though now Tsunade would not have to give her remedial training to get her physically up to scratch. By shippuden she should actually be able to do something when it comes down to a battle.
Naruto is a little harder to judge. He should be at the level of Sasuke by the time he is a genin although without the two fire jutsu's since he doesn't have access to them.
In this I can't viable way for Naruto to train with Jiraiya during the one month after second round of the chunin exams since Naruto could just go to the Library and find scrolls there. though this does not mean he can't
